Anhui Agricultural University is a university jointly built by the provincial government, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, with agricultural and forestry life sciences as its advantages and characteristics. It is one of the first ten universities in the country to build the "New Rural Development Research Institute" and a project university of the "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in Central and Western China".
Since the 13th Five-Year Plan, it has presided over 4 national key R&D plan projects, 29 research projects, and 367 national funds; it has presided over 2 second prizes for national scientific and technological progress, 60 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, and 9 provincial social science awards, authorized 951 invention patents, and transformed 237 scientific and technological achievements.
